Domaine Larue spans 17 hectares across some of Burgundy’s most prestigious villages: Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, and Aloxe-Corton. The estate is a true family affair, with Denis and Didier Larue working alongside their sons, Bruno and Vivien, to craft wines that honour both tradition and innovation. Their shared philosophy is simple yet profound: adapting their work to suit the unique characteristics of each vintage and vineyard parcel.
While not yet certified, the estate integrates organic and biodynamic practices, striving for minimal intervention and a natural approach to viticulture. Their commitment to respecting nature means allowing each vintage to reveal itself organically, adapting their techniques to the unique challenges of every growing season.
Sous le Puits, meaning "under the well," is named after an old stone well nestled among the vines. The name feels particularly fitting for this clear and refreshing Puligny-Montrachet, a wine of remarkable purity and elegance. It brims with freshness, from the limestone soils, carrying subtle notes of oak and minerality along the way. A true testament to the excellence of the vineyard and the dedication of the Larue family, this is Puligny at its finest, vibrant, precise, and deeply satisfying.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
