Fattoria di Calappiano, located in the heart of Tuscany on the hills between Vinci and Florence, in the area of Montalbano.With a fascinating history, dating back to Medici Florence in the 1500’s, the Fattoria di Calappiano as we know it today is made up of 200 hectares of vines, planted alongside the olive groves and woodlands of this natural heritage site. Currently managed by the Sensi Family, the Calappiano estate and its team proudly respect the history and tradition of its past, while also embracing modern innovations.
This Vin Santo is produced according to the ancient Tuscan tradition with Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes. It is created by drying the grapes on mats followed by aging after fermentation for a long period in small barrels known as "caratelli".
Dried fruit with hints of honey best served with Italian cheeses, fresh fruits such as figs, apricots and peaches, nut or dried fruit based desserts or biscotti... to dunk in your wine for the classic match.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
