Flaneur Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2023

From the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Flâneur Wines champions minimalist, terroir-driven winemaking. The name itself evokes the idea of “wandering without purpose” exploring, observing, and allowing the vineyards to speak. The team sources fruit from estate-owned vineyards such as La Belle Promenade and Flânerie, farms organically or sustainably, uses native yeast fermentation, and limits intervention in the cellar.

The 2023 vintage blends fruit from cool-climate vineyards across the Willamette Valley, where volcanic and sedimentary terroirs yield vibrant, expressive Pinot Noir. Fermentation includes whole-cluster components, and ageing is carried out in a mix of new and neutral French oak to support texture without dominating the fruit. The result is a wine crafted for both early pleasure and graceful evolution.

In the glass it has a ruby core with violet highlights. The nose unfolds with raspberries, wild strawberry, cranberry and rose-petal perfume, followed by hints of crushed forest-floor and subtle spice. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, silky and well-balanced: pure red fruit (cherry, pomegranate) gives way to savoury herbal notes and gentle tannins. A bright acidity lifts the finish, leaving you with lingering floral and earthy echoes. 

Perfect with duck breast, mushroom risotto, or simply enjoyed on its own with a little air and a good book.
