Full of ripe red cherries and dark berries, alongside delicate violet florals and a whisper of warm spice. There’s also a subtle earthiness and minerality that points to the alluvial soils of its Marlborough estate.
In the mouth, the wine is silky and textured, with plush yet fine tannins that support rather than dominate. Flavours of cherry, plum, and redcurrant flow through, complemented by gentle savoury notes and a clean, savoury acidity that gives it tension and drive. The oak ageing (24 months in French barriques) adds a soft, toasty complexity without overpowering the fruit.
The finish is long and elegant, leaving lingering red fruit, floral hints, and a touch of spice. Overall, it’s a refined and balanced Pinot, expressive and very tasty.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
