House of Brown Red is a modern Californian blend built on Cabernet Sauvignon, with equal parts Pinot Noir and Tempranillo, sourced from sustainably managed, regeneratively farmed vineyards in Lodi.
The nose is lifted and aromatic, showing notes of tea leaf and hibiscus, alongside red cherry, blackcurrant and a gentle warming spice. On the palate, the wine is rich yet nimble, carried by crisp acidity and sweet, supple tannins that keep everything beautifully in check. Layers of strawberry, red cherry and blackcurrant unfold through the mid-palate, with a subtle hint of almond adding depth.
The finish is smooth and refined, lingering with cinnamon, clove and a touch of sweet vanilla, making this a highly drinkable and versatile red. A natural partner for grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, pork dishes, tomato-based pasta or a relaxed evening glass on its own.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
