The 2024 Capitoline Wolf White is a belnd of 60% Semillon, 40% Chenin Blanc and opens with an expressive, aromatic nose, with delicate quince and soft white florals layered over ripe yellow fruit. As it evolves, a subtle green spice adds a fresh, slightly herbal lift.
On the palate, it has a gentle, pleasing bitterness that quickly gives way to generous, fleshy yellow fruit.There’s a comforting note of warm ginger biscuit spice that adds depth and texture. Bright, lively acidity runs throughout, keeping the wine fresh and mouth-watering while balancing its richness.
A versatile food wine, it pairs particularly well with rich, savoury dishes like carbonara, but is equally enjoyable alongside something simple and indulgent like a lightly toasted hot cross bun with plenty of butter and a touch of sharp cheddar.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
