Made by Gerd Stepp, who grew up among the vineyards of Bad Dürkheim before honing his skills across New Zealand, Africa and Europe. Returning home in 2010, he set out to create wines that capture the “authentic and true character” of Pfalz. Working closely with around 20 local growers, including his family’s own plots, Stepp produces small-batch wines that combine purity, quality and German terroir.
This wine shows just how well Sauvignon Blanc thrives on the region’s limestone-rich soils. Bursting with lemon, lime and grapefruit zest, it’s crisp and vivid on the palate, balanced by a fine mineral backbone and a subtle herbal lift on the finish. Gentle sur lie ageing adds texture and depth, without weighing down its refreshing precision.
Serve well-chilled alongside goat’s cheese, grilled sea bass, or fresh asparagus. A wine that’s as invigorating as it is moreish.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
