Possibly one of the best value Californian Chardonnay on the market. This is the second wine from the Varner Brothers Jim and Bob at theiracclaimed Varner winery, known for crafting wines in a traditional Burgundian style. Unlike many Californian Chardonnays, this one is fully aged in stainless steel, allowing the bright fruit flavours to shine without the influence of oak.
Zesty lemon and juicy tropical pineapple take centre stage, delivering a fresh and vibrant palate with a crisp, clean finish. To enhance texture and complexity, the wine undergoes bâtonnage (lees stirring), which adds a subtle richness and hints of brioche, creating the perfect balance between freshness and depth.
A versatile food wine, it pairs beautifully with seafood dishes like fish cakes and fish pie, as well as simple salmon preparations or creamy pasta.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
