A Taste of Sussex Still Wine - Trio

1 x Stopham Estate Pinot Blanc 2022 £21.50

Stopham have focused on producing quality still wines from their founding, and they make up 85% of their output. Their winemaking is guided by four main principles - Passion, Precision, Craft and Sustainability - and Pinots Gris and Blanc have become their signature varieties. The Pinot Blanc is made from handpicked grapes fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve the crisp citrus fruit and floral notes. Aromas of lime and lemongrass are backed up by ripe white peach on the palate, with a dry and focused finish. It is a superb food wine, wonderful with seafood or goat's cheese.

1 x Albourne Estate Sussex Rosé 2022 £18.49

Albourne's wines exploded onto the English wine scene when a Bacchus produced in their second ever vintage won English Wine of the Year in 2015. They have gone from strength-to-strength since then, producing charming still and sparkling wines. Work is done with respect to nature, using only renewable energy in their winery and cultivating to avoid the use of herbicides in the vineyard. The Sussex Rose is made from Pinot Noir in a delicate pale pink style. Fresh cranberry, raspberry and rosehip aromas draw you into the crisp minerally palate. A far cry from the lakes of dull rose out there, this is a wine with real personality and flavour to it.

1 x Ashdown Chasselas 2020 £21.49

On the edge of the Ashdown Forest, Bluebell Vineyard are the only English winery to produce a wine from the Chasselas variety. Originally from Switzerland, though also found in France and Germany, Chasselas is well-suited to England's cool climate and produces wines in an elegant and gentle style. The nose brings together grapefruit and green apple with a subtle hint of honey and jasmine. It has a crisp and dry palate, with soft pear fruit and soft acidity on the long finish. A lovely aperitif, or pairing with salads or sushi.
