The Alta Langa DOCG is dedicated solely to metodo classico sparkling wines, and Alasia’s example is a benchmark for the style: structured, elegant and full of character.
Made in the traditional method from high-altitude vineyards in Piedmont’s prized Alta Langa region, this sparkling wine is Italy’s answer to Champagne. Cool hillside sites and long lees ageing give the wine finesse, freshness and complexity.
Pale straw in colour with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is elegant and lifted, with aromas of crisp apple, citrus peel and white flowers, underpinned by subtle notes of brioche and hazelnut from extended time on lees. On the palate, it is vibrant and refreshing, with precise fruit, mineral tension, and a creamy mousse. The finish is long, dry, and refined.
Perfect as an aperitif, but equally at home with seafood canapés, sushi, delicate pasta dishes or a creamy risotto. A sparkling that overdelivers on style and substance.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
