Remoriquet is considered as one of the top estates in Nuits, but the prices have yet to catch up!
Gilles is the fourth generation winemaker in the Remoriquet family and he not resting on his laurels but is striving to develop and improve upon the old winemaking methods of the estate. He has devised a new sorting system to weed out the under ripe grapes. He now favours concrete over stainless steel, for fermentation, because it is slower to heat and cool, lending greater control and consistency. And the maximum use of new oak is now 30%, to allow the purity of fruit to shine.
Gilles is progressive yet respectful of the wine making tradition, these wines are only likely to improve and the prices increase! Get them whilst you can.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

Great Wine/Spirit shop with knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff
This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
