Lustau Vermut Rojo 75cl

A distinguished Spanish red vermouth that artfully combines tradition with innovation. Produced by Bodegas Lustau, a venerable sherry house established in 1896 in Jerez de la Frontera. Lustau began as an almacenista, aging sherries for other producers, before evolving into a renowned brand known for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

The Vermut Rojo is made from a meticulous blend of two sherries: a dry, nutty Amontillado and a sweet, velvety Pedro Ximénez, each aged individually for over a decade using the traditional solera and criaderas system. This base is then infused with a selection of ten botanicals, including wormwood, gentian, sage, coriander, and orange peel, each macerated separately to extract their distinct aromas and flavours.

The result is a mahogany-hued vermouth with reddish tints, offering sweet aromas of ripe fruit intertwined with citrus and herbaceous notes, all resting on a smoky wood background. On the palate, it is velvety, flavourful, and balanced, culminating in a slightly bitter finish with a delicate nutty aftertaste. Ideal as an aperitif, Lustau Vermut Rojo is best served chilled between 7–9ºC, over ice, and garnished with an orange peel. It pairs wonderfully with olives, nuts, or a variety of tapas, and also serves as an excellent base for classic cocktails like the Negroni or Manhattan.

This vermouth has garnered acclaim for its exceptional quality, including being named the best vermouth in Spain by the Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers (AEPEV) in 2021.
