This delicate and refined Barolo exemplifies remarkable length and precision.
Over the past ten years, Luca Roagna has firmly established himself as a luminary in Piedmont, demonstrating a fearless spirit in both the vineyard and the cellar, all aimed at enhancing his already extraordinary wines.
In Luca's words, "The 2017 vintages reveal the sun-kissed and indulgent facets of the Nebbiolo grape." The age-old Nebbiolo vines, nurtured over years, benefit from deep-rooted access to water reserves that elude younger counterparts. reserving the intricate complexities that the Nebbiolo grape requires time to cultivate. The vintage of 2017 boasted abundant sunshine tempered by well-timed summer rains. While others experienced an early harvest, Roagna deferred their picking, a decision that set them apart.
Typical Nebbiolo characteristics such as red fruit, rose petals, and tar, along with some spice and earthy notes from the terroir. Expect this Barolo to have firm tannins and bright acidity, making it suitable for further aging

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
