This brandy has used the grapes from Peter Hall's Breaky Bottom vineyard near Rodmell on the South Downs Way, this Cuvee is named after Michael's mother Jan Yeoman. This brandy has delicate floral notes with white pepper and a light caramel with spice and oak on the nose. On the palate, there is nuttyness, hazelnut, apricot and marzipan with a warm lingering finish. Perfect on its own or as long drink with ginger ale.
Spirit of the Downs works with small batch wine producers that make wine with passion and love. They only make small batch Vintage spirits, typically with batches of between 600 to 1500 bottles. Each of their spirits reflects the season it was produced, together with the terroir of the vineyard and the grape varietal that has been chosen.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
