
In the Christian calendar, Shrove Tuesday marks the last opportunity to indulge, before fasting for lent. Traditionally, meat, eggs, butter and other fats were consumed in the form of pancakes, to use up the soon-to-be prohibited ingredients.
Why not go decadent this Pancake Day and pep-up your pancakes with these savoury and sweet pairings.
If you favour a savoury pancake, you might enjoy filling and rolling them with béchamel, ham and cheese before popping them in the oven to crisp around the edges.
