Pursued by Bear - Bringing you a touch of Hollywood extravagance to your glass

Pursued by Bear - Bringing you a touch of Hollywood extravagance to your glass

Bringing you a touch of Hollywood extravagance to your glass…. Pursued by Bear wines are the creation of film and television star Kyle Maclachlan. Inspired after being gifted a bottle of Château Lynch-Bages for securing the role of Paul Atreides in the original adaptation of Dune.

Taking its name from the iconic Shakespeare stage direction; “Exit, pursued by bear” these Washington State wines are no gimmick, and contain all of the quality and elegance this promising terroir has to offer. Having grown up in Washington, Maclachlan brings an intimate knowledge of the region and a love for its produce. In collaboration with winemaker Daniel Wampfler, the wines bring a mix of Old World elegance and New World Grandeur.

Baby Bear Syrah 2017 - named in honour of the birth of MacLachlan’s son. This outstanding Syrah was fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in new oak. Intensely coloured and bursting with wild blackberry and a generous helping of spicy aromas and flavours. A noticeable element  of olive tapenade and smoked meat dance across a textured palate laced with silky tannins and vibrant acidity.

Bear Cub 2018 -  A youthful sibling to the Baby Bear, Bear Cub is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with just a touch of Syrah. The grapes were hand picked from 6 distinct vineyards to give layered complexity and the wine is aged in tight grain French oak barrels for over a year. Prominent ripe berry aromas with a hint of vanilla on the nose. It is rich and flavourful on the palate with wild raspberry, blackcurrant, and a streak of dark cocoa. A hedonistic style with the ability to age.
