Vincent Girardin - Team Favourites

This domaine has been iconic since Vincent split from his family winery in Santenay in the 1980's where he was able to expand into the  Côte de Beaune and quickly gained a great reputation for his top quality Pinot noir.
In the early years Vincent experimented with his winemaking which led him and his winemaker Eric Germain to find their style, creating terroir driven and expressive wines. In 2009 Vincent and his team joined a select few in Burgundy on the forefront of biodynamics in the vineyard, the wines also have no additives and minimum amounts of sulphur at bottling.
This attention to detail creates amazingly approachable wines that are capable of developing within a few years of bottle aging. We currently have a few wines from Vincent, the Bourgogne white and red are brilliant appetizers before getting seriously stuck into his top wines from Burgundy. The white is creamy with a balancing freshness, delicious! The Pinot is bright and exciting, with delicate raspberry and subtle earthy notes.
If you are a fan of the sunnier side of Burgundy then don't look further than the Pouilly-Fussie. It's made from 100% Chardonnay from vines over 50 years old. After maturation on the fine lees the wine is showing flavours of hazelnut, toasted almonds, with mineral notes and a clean acidity which keeps you going back for more. Perfect with seafood or white meats.
